POSITION DESCRIPTION:
This position is for an experienced underwriter, responsible for worksite underwriting and program management as assigned. Will evaluate risk, determine if/under what conditions an offer will be made. By applying technical expertise, will calculate rates to be offered and assume risk for groups of various size and complexity. Will act as a training resource for junior staff.
Immediate Performance Objectives:
o Achieve profitability and growth objectives with assigned programs/producers.
o Ensure adherence to underwriting policy, strategy, guidelines and procedures.
o Assist VP of Underwriting in gathering pertinent information and statistics which will provide for sound management of decisions in managing Worksite programs and products.
o Adhere to pre-approved underwriting authority level.
o Ensure regulatory and legal compliance within assigned underwriting territory.
o Evaluate financial data, demographics, group experience and information provided to determine risk, calculate rates and approve or decline requests for quotes on various size groups as assigned.
o Assist in the training and development of underwriters, dales and account management personnel, recommend revised underwriting procedures whenever appropriate and serve as a technical resource for other underwriting, sales and account management staff.
o Communicate effectively with Sales and Account Management by providing them with information and support to strategically position proposals and renewals in a manner with brokers, consultants and/or clients.
Additional Objectives:
o Serve as underwriting liaison when handling large, complex cases to ensure efficient and accurate service/work flow as well as identify any problems and recommend solutions.
o Maintain all logs, records, reports, spreadsheets and files as required. o Participate in training, meetings and sessions, obtaining updates and information needed to perform job using up-to-date technology and skills. o Handle special projects as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
o 5
years of general underwriting experience required, to include 3
years in worksite. Technical and financial expertise and experience as an underwriter in the marketplace for Worksite coverages.
o Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point) and Windows.
o Excellent oral and written communication skills.
o Proven relationship building and interpersonal skills.
o Self-motivated, organized, resourceful.
o Must be detail and results oriented.
o Flexibility, creativity, able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
o Some travel required.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
