The Main Emergency Department is a 29 bed unit caring for patients of all ages across the continuum of care. The team in the Emergency Department provided care to 88,000 patients from our community in 2013. The team in the ED is dedicated to meeting Meridian's brand promise of delivering the best health care experience while modeling Meridian's quality standards of-safety and professional excellence with personal concern and efficiency. The ED is striving to deliver the most efficient and compelling patient healthcare experience in a professionally rewarding team member environment.
A day in the life of an Emergency Department Registered Nurse at Meridian includes:
Delivery of nursing practices according to the evidence-based research, nursing policies, and standards of care to provide and ensure safe and excellent delivery of individualized patient centered care with a diverse patient population.
Ongoing communication with patients, nursing colleagues and other members of the health care team regarding patient's status, rendered care and treatment plans.
Responsible for optimal patient/guest satisfaction and care experience according to Meridian Health standards.
Medication administration utilizing the latest clinical documentation technology designed to ensure the safest delivery of medications to our patients.
Patient and family centered care aimed at optimizing health, wellness and disease management.
Interdisciplinary collaboration in management of our patient's plan of care and goals from admission to discharge to ensure safe transitioning and continuum of care.
Minimum Education:
Graduated from an accredited School of Nursing, BSN preferred
Desired Education:
BSN Preferred
Minimum Work Experience:
1 year Hospital Nursing experience required.
Desired Work Experience:
1-3 years Emergency Nursing experience
Required Licenses/Certifications:
(BLS) Basic Life Support
(ACLS) Advanced Cardiac Life Support
(PALS) Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred.
Required Skills:
-IV Certification with adult and pediatric experience
-Must have computer documentation/entry experience
-Excellent proven interpersonal skills
-Demonstrates multi-tasking and prioritization skills

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
