Security Analyst II

Overview
The Information Security Analyst II is a junior-level position in the Information Technology Security Team.
Responsibilities
Able to administer and monitor security solutions.
Able to contribute to security projects and participate on cross functional project teams.
Able to support security policies, procedures and execute incident response strategies.
Completes tasks designed to ensure security of Hackensack Meridian's systems and information assets.
Protects against unauthorized access, modification, or destruction of Hackensack Meridian's information assets.
A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
Security tool system administration
Functions as a system (or backup) administrator for 2 or more security tools.
Performs the day-to-day administration required to ensure the security tools are meeting the needs of Hackensack Meridian Health.
Makes recommendations to improve the functionality of the security tools to improve Hackensack Meridian's security posture and/or customer experience.
Upgrade and/or apply patches to security tools as required.
Identify unsuccessful and successful intrusion attempts by reviewing and analyzing security events logs and event summary information.
Ensure the integrity and protection of networks.
Monitor IDS/IPS for potential, successful and unsuccessful intrusion attempts.
Communicate intrusions and compromises to team leaders.

Provides advance notification to appropriate teams to advise of scheduled or unscheduled downtimes and implementation of new systems.
Schedules and performs routine maintenance to ensure optimal system performance.
Establishes and maintains effective relations with internal and external users and/or customers.
Security projects/initiatives
Works with end users to determine needs of individual departments, implementing policies or procedures.
Is able to serve as a subject matter support on security projects/initiatives.
Work as part of a team to implement elements of security projects.
Works under general supervision.
Understand that we must enable the business while securing it.
Monitor security/compliance industry
Stay current on threats affecting the industry as a whole; provide recommendations to address as appropriate.
Stay current on emerging technology and provide recommendations on how MH could use this technology to improve security.
Incident Response
Is a rotating member of the IT Security On-call Team.
Is a member of the Hackensack Meridian Incident Response Team, responding to and mitigating security incidents using established procedures and protocols.
Keeps management advised during the incident.
Creates appropriate documentation of the incident as required.
Qualifications
BS in IT, Computer Science, Management Information Systems or equivalent degree preferred. Work experience may be substituted.
Security certification desired (e.g., Security+, CISSP)
At least 2-5 years of IT experience with at least 1 year of system/network security experience.
Experience and technical knowledge in:
endpoint security and protection
data loss prevention
network security
authentication and security protocols
Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within IT Security.
Experience with network devices including firewalls, routers, switches, etc.
Experience in large network environments with state-of-the-art data centers and remote locations.
Knowledge of network and web protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, UDP, IPSEC, HTTP, HTTPS, etc.)
Able to discuss security issues in understandable business terms.
Experience with supporting security policies and standards with business.
Knowledge of security vulnerabilities and remediation techniques.
Knowledge of MS Windows, Active Directory and best practice implementation methodologies.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent leadership skills and teamwork skills.
Results-oriented, high energy, self-motivated, owns the outcome.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills and an understanding of computer systems
Familiarity with security regulations and standards, HIPAA/HITECH and PCI-DSS preferred.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
